little golden records: Polly Polite

Welcome to the companion to my other blog, Junk Shop Juke Box.

Some of these are things that i owned when i was a kid, but the majority of what you'll find here are old 78s that i have rescued from thrift stores and junk shops in recent years. I'm no music historian, so don't expect any detailed research on these. I'm just sharing some sounds and scans of some stuff i own.

I transferred the 78s by playing them at 45 rpm and speeding up the digital files using Audacity. Some have quite a bit of surface noise. I like to call it 'sizzlin bacon.' I cleaned them up the best i could, but don't expect super high fidelity, it's a miracle that some of them survived all these years at all.
They are what they are.
